GlenAllachie 12 Year Old Sauternes Cask Finish is bottled unchilfiltered for flavour with no added colouring at 48% ABV. The whisky underwent additional maturation for almost two years in Wine Barriques meticulously sourced by Master Distiller Billy Walker. This straw gold malt gets its elegant stone fruit, zesty flavours from Sauternes Barriques made from French Oak, with a medium level of toasting. Sauternes is a dessert wine originating from the Bordeaux region of South West France, using the ‘noble rot’ to sweeten the wine. These Barriques were bottled at their optimum – when the characteristics of the distillery and the wood reached the perfect balance.
