Nk’Mip Cellars is the first Indigenous-owned winery in North America, and they are inspired to express their culture in everything they do. Qwam Qwmt (pronounced kw-em kw-empt) is their premium tier of table wines. In the Okanagan language spoken by the Osoyoos Indian Band, Qwam Qwmt translates to ‘achieving excellence’. This estate wine is produced in very limited quantities and is sourced primarily from the finest grapes grown in the 40 year old Inkameep Vineyards.
Aromas of black cherry, plum, cedar and leather lead to a full-bodied and concentrated palate. This Merlot has firm but plush tannins with a light acidity that leads to a long finish.
